Vyra Louise Marie Jones, daughter of the late Ivan and Fredaline (Bauer) Najvar, was born in Victoria, Texas. She received her elementary education at Central and East Side Elementary in Palacios and graduated from Palacios High School. She attended Wharton County Jr. College when she met her future husband Bill Jones Jr. and they were married on March 15, 1975. God blessed them with 2 children Michael and Traci. Bill was accidentally electrocuted on his shrimp boat in March of 1994.
In July, 1997, Vyra was invited to attend a Cursillo weekend. The desire of becoming a sister returned and she found herself back at Incarnate Word Convent where she spoke with one of the Sisters. The Sister suggested that she join the Associates of the Incarnate Word and in 2000 made her consecration as an Associate of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament.
In 2001 she began the initial stage of formation as an affiliate. Vyra received her new name, (Sr. Louise Marie) and the habit of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament on September 29, 2005 and made her first profession of vows on September 30, 2007. She received a Certificate of Accounting from the Texas Vocational School in Victoria, Texas.
She made her final profession on August 19, 2012 at Incarnate Word Convent.
During her 15 years as a professed member of the Congregation, Sister Louise Marie worked as the secretary at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Victoria. Later she was missioned to Sacred Heart in Hallettsville and Saint Michaels in Weimer where she worked as a teacher’s aide. Sister Louise Marie has also worked as a vocation Directress; leads the Incarnate Word Prayer Group and at the present time Sister Louise Marie works in the business at Incarnate Word Convent.
She enjoys playing cards, dominos and spending time with her family.
