I was born on a farm in Falls City Texas on August 25 1944. My parents were Joe and Justine Sprencel I was one of 5 children. When I was 2 years old, my Parent brought a farm 4 miles west of Karnes City Texas. I attended the public school in Karnes City, Texas. Our parish church was Hobson, Texas and this is where I first met the Sisters of Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament. At age of 15 I felt a call to the religious life. On August 20, 1959 I entered the Convent in Victoria, Texas as a candidate. I attended high School at Nazareth Academy and graduated in 1963.
On August 5, 1963 I became a novice and made temporary vows on August 6, 1964.
In 1967 I entered the LVN nursing school at Huth Memorial Hospital in Yoakum Texas and received my LVN License in 1967. The next few years I spent working as a nurse At Huth Memorial Hospital in Yoakum, Texas and Mercy Hospital in Jourdanton, Texas.
On August 6, 1969 I made my Final Vows. After final vows, I worked at the infirmary at IWC and also some at Huth Memorial Hospital in Yoakum ,Texas. Between 1971and 1974 I attended Marillac College, St Louis Missouri. I obtained a BSN and my Rn License. After Graduation I worked at the hospitals in Jourdanton and Yoakum. I also spend 8 years teaching at our Vocational Nursing school
at Huth Memorial Hospital in Yoakum, Texas.
In 1989 I began working as a Hospice Nurse and worked for 15 years at Hospice of South Texas in Victoria and 15 years at Christus Hospice in San Antonio, Texas.
In 2022 I retired from active ministry. Prresently I volunteer with Christus Hospice and reside here at Blessed Sacrament Academy in San Antonio, Texas.

Cuando tenía 2 años, mis padres trajeron una granja a 4 millas al oeste de Karnes City Texas. Asistí a la escuela pública en Karnes City, Texas. Nuestra iglesia parroquial era Hobson, Texas y aquí es donde conocí por primera vez a las Hermanas del Verbo Encarnado y del Santísimo Sacramento. A los 15 años sentí un llamado a la vida religiosa. En 1967 ingresé a la escuela de enfermería LVN en Huth Memorial Hospital en Yoakum Texas y recibí mi licencia LVN en 1967. Los siguientes años los pasé trabajando como enfermera en Huth Memorial Hospital en Yoakum, Texas y en Mercy Hospital en Jourdanton, Texas.
El 6 de agosto de 1969 hice mis votos perpetuos. Después de los votos perpetuos, trabajé en la enfermería de IWC y también en el Huth Memorial Hospital en Yoakum, Texas. En 2022 me retiré del ministerio activo. Actualmente soy voluntario en Christus Hospice y resido aquí en Blessed Sacrament Academy en San Antonio, Texas.
